9 Week 2D Reassurance Scan

At 9 weeks of pregnancy, your baby has grown to about 22mm long from head to bottom. The major internal organs, such as the heart, brain, lungs, kidneys and gut, continue to develop. The hands and feet are developing. Your baby's face is slowly forming. The eyes are bigger and there's a mouth and a tongue with tiny taste buds. At Little Miracles Sonography Delph we offer a range of baby scans for your pregnancy journey starting with Reassurance scans from 7 weeks, gender scans from 15 weeks. We also offer 3D 4D scans from 16 weeks but for the best results we recommend you wait until 26 to 32 weeks as this allows the baby to develop more so we can see more detail and the features of your Little Miracle. Our Clinic is in Delph near Oldham and easily accessed via the M62 from Manchester and Huddersfield.

9 Weeks and Growing Fast

Here's a video of a 9 week old, you can clearly see a heartbeat and we even get a little dance. Amazing

12 Week Reassurance Scan

Your at 12 weeks and the end of your first trimester. Your baby, or foetus, is now about the size of a plum around 5.4cm long from head to bottom and weighs about 18g, which is around the same as 3 grapes. Your baby's skeleton is made up from tissue which begins hardening into bone, and it's internal organs and muscles have been created. The sex organs are formed, just don't ask us to tell you the gender of your baby just yet as they can't accurately be determined by a scan until for another 3 weeks. You can clearly see this little one kicking out just to keep mum on her toes!

26 Weeks - Towards the End of Your 2nd Trimester

What does your baby look like?

Your baby, or foetus, will be approximately the size of a large courgette, around 35 .6cm long from head to heel, and weighs about 760g. Your baby may soon be feeling a little cramped — but not to worry, there's still plenty of space in there to grow. If you've been used to feeling your tiny gymnast or football star kicking or trying cartwheels these may not be as noticeable.

You may experience a totally different series of tiny jerky movements, repeating at regular intervals in your bump - it might be that your little miracles got hiccups! Its also around now, your baby's eyes will be opening for the first time and they will learn how to blink.

29 Week 3D Baby Hiding
