Please reach us at amy@little-miracles.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
4D is the addition of time we produce 3D imaged and 4D clips. During your scan we will see baby moving and wriggling, blowing kisses and moving its hands and feet, we can capture these precious moments in short video clips. These clips can be saved onto a USB stick which comes as part of the Platinum package or can be bought separately as part of your scan. We use 5D, also known as HD, routinely during our scans.
It always helps to attend your appointment with a full bladder, especially below 20 weeks. If your bladder is full your womb, in most cases, will sit higher in your pelvis so your baby is easier to see. For growth scan and 3D/4D scans a full bladder is not necessary however, if during your scan your baby is a bit shy emptying your bladder may make baby move and show it’s face to us.
We allow up to 4 extra people in the room for your scan, we are a small cosy clinic and only one party will be in the clinic at any one time. You can have everyone in at one time or a couple at a time, it’s up to you. We also very much welcome children in our baby scan clinic.
Yes. We have a wide range of gender reveal products from scratch cards to gender reveal cannons. We have confetti cannons as well as confetti and smoke cannons, they come in two different sizes. Please see ??? for more information images and videos. We also sell children’s confetti pops so little ones can join in the fun.
5D or HD ultrasound is considered the gold standard for imaging your baby. It is considered the most life like way to see your baby's face. We routinely use 5D when looking at your baby
We will try every trick in the book to get your baby to move so we can see its gender. We will get you to move on the bed, cough or give your pelvis a wiggle. We have a special bed in our clinic which enables us to tilt you slightly backwards, this sometimes encourages baby to move. We can try filling or emptying your bladder, having a short walk, or eating something sweet. In the unlikely event that your baby just won’t move, we will offer another scan at a different time.
We recommend between 26 and 32 weeks or pregnancy. Although we can use 3D and gain good pictures around this gestation too.
There are several things that will affect the quality of the images we can achieve. Baby’s gestation if you are over 32 weeks it can be difficult to get 3D images as baby is taking up quite a lot of space by then, leaving little room for posing for a scan. Baby’s position can also affect what images we can get, as with the gender scan, we will try lots of different ways to get your baby to move. Where your placenta is positioned can also have an affect on the scan images, baby’s find their placentas very comfortable and sometimes use them as pillows. If we are unable to get good images after using all our tricks, and you are still under 32 weeks we will offer another appointment.
Yes. All staff performing scans at Little Miracles Sonographer are medical qualified sonographers who hold a degree in Radiography and a post graduate diploma in medical ultrasound. Although it is possible to do so we do not train on the job. You can be safe in the knowledge that our sonographers are highly experienced in pregnancy ultrasound.
As qualified sonographers we are morally obligated to inform you if we spot something unexpected on your scan. The benefit of medically qualified sonographers is that our staff know exactly what we need to do and where you need to be to get the best follow-on care. This may be a referral to your midwife, an early pregnancy unit or a maternity assessment unit. We will never let you leave the clinic without a plan or an appointment in the right medical clinic.
Yes, please inform us of this when you book your scan, and we can make sure we leave an adequate time slot to get images of both babies. We suggest you come around 26 weeks to give the best chance of getting good images. There is a £20 supplement added for twin scans.
Yes, in early pregnancy on some occasions we will offer a TV scan when required to get clear images of baby. An full explanation will be given and additional consent form will be required. We offer a trained chaperone if requested. If for some reason a chaperone is not available we will offer an alternative appointment.
We are always happy to receive feedback both positive or negative, this helps keep our service the best it can possibly be! Feedback can be provided at the clinic during your appointment, by phone, by email to amy@little-miracles.co.uk or in writing to our clinic.
All feedback is reviewed by a director and we aim to respond within 72hrs.
